Procedure 1: Seven Beta Uninstall, Install Vista, Upgrading to the RC.

For many users, this does not appear to be the best since Microsoft recommends that Vista go through to install the RC. What did not appeal to everyone, because as a very successful say Microsoft, reinstall, re-customize, reconfigure is a real pain.

Procedure 2: Bypass the verification process.

For users who do not wish to return to Windows Vista before upgrading, Microsoft provides instructions for disabling the module that terminates the installation of this release candidate if the beta is available. Ie to update to RC Seven updating Seven Beta bypassing the verification process. The process involves booting from an external drive or another partition by editing a setup file with a text editor.

  • Download the iso file and burn it on DVD
  • Copy the files from the disk image obtained on the storage location from which you wish to update
  • Browse the directory sources
  • Cversion.ini Open the file with a text editor such as notepad
  • Change the number MinClient and replace it with a lower value. For example, replace 7100 by 7000 (see illustration)
  • Save the changes (without changing the file name)
  • Run the installation as you normally would from this disk image as amended, the check will be ignored.
