For all those not a fan of Cydia but are nevertheless an Unlocked iPhone 2G firmware 2.0.1 is here want the solution.

6. Click on OK and wait
7. Jailbreak is gone but everything else remains intact.

First i need to say that a jailbreak of the iPhone 2G firmware 2.0.1 is not yet possible.

How to get to and activatet unlocked iPhone 2G firmware 2.0.1:


You need:

1. A working iPhone 2G Firmare 2.0.0, jaibroken, unlocked, activated
2. Current iTunes Version 7.7.1
3. iPhone 2G firmware 2.0.1
4. A little bit patience

Steps:

1. Sync your iPhone with iTunes to do a backup
2. Select the manually downloaded original firmware 2.0.1 for the iPhone 2G with
3. SHIFT + click on UPDATE (NOT RESTORE!) (Windows)
4. ALT + click on UPDATE (NOT RESTORE!) (OSX)
5. Press OK
6. SOFT iTunes will update the firmware over your jailbroken iPhone 2G
7. After iTunes has finished you will see that the unlock and the activation remains but the Jailbreak is gone
8. Finish!

Hmm, can you help me to find out what am I missing? My unlocked phone works OK with 2.0, but I had to opt out (deselect) Cydia, otherwise I could not run Winpwn. Does this mean that my phone is not jailbreaked? Does this matter?

Be careful. Make sure you upgraded your baseband to latest version when you pawned you phone. Failure to do so will upgrdade the baseband when you upgrade to 2.0.1. Because of this it will lock your iPhone after the upgrade. If it did, nothing is lost. Put your phone on DFU mode. Unpawned Restore to original 2.0. Then again to restore pawned 2.0. The do the soft upgrade as explained in this post Happy upgrade.

Hi, I've tried to upgrade my iPhone firmware 1.1.4 to firmware 2.0.1 with itunes 8.0.1. Something went wrong and error 1604 appeared. Now the phone doesn't work and cannot restore from itunes. Also the phone have image with the connector and itunes always! Help me Please!
