Make the folder look colorful in Windows

Aren't you got bored of the came look of folders we have in our PC ? Wanna see some new or want to change the folder appearance, than here is application which can easily change the appearance and icons of your folders, called Folderico.

Folderico is a nice little program that allows you to change the color and individual icons of folders right from the context menu. This is a versatile program and can be used in so many ways. For example you might denote all of your work folders with a red color to visually differentiate them from other folders, or you could change the icon of your downloads folder from a simple plain folder to one that, say, has a big green arrow on it.

And even at connection of a hard disk to other computer of an icon will remain such what they were made by you.You can change an icon of any folder, with any method which is pleasant to you more.
  • Through context menu with preliminary viewing the image

  • Through dialog, also with preliminary viewing the image

You can choose a icon-theme for context menu.

Features

  1. Allows the change of a folder’s icon straight from the context menu (right mouse click).

  2. Comes with multiple built-in themes that contain custom folder icons on various subjects

  3. A nice feature is that it can load icon libraries (.ICL) and install these as custom ’themes’

  4. Unlike manually changing a folder’s icons or changing it using Foldermarker, Folderico stores the folder’s new icon within the folder itself.

  5. Tooltips: a not-so-obvious function is that you can use Folderico to display whatever string you want as a tooltip that will show whenever you hover over the folder with the mouse.

Re: Make the folder look colorful in Windows

It is easy to use and I especially like the fact that changed folders with Folderico retain the new icons when transferred to other computers. To know the steps to use, go through this:-

Launch the program and browse to the folder you want to change the color of. Here you can also put in a custom tooltip for the folder that will be displayed when hovering over it.

Next click on Select icon to bring up the multiple choices of colors and styles to choose from.

After you choose the look of the folder click on Apply.

Now when you go to the location of the folder you will notice the change that was selected. If you don't find something you like with the default themes they also offer several other user made themes to download.

After you download the new theme folder just move the file with the ".icl" extension into the Samples folder where Folderico is installed.

Folderico also integrates in with the context menu so you can Right-click and quickly select a color or style.

The default language for Folderico is English but there are several more to choose from and even more you can download online.

Re: Make the folder look colorful in Windows

I was able to get it to work on Windows 7 64bit. However the context menu would not work ? but the rest worked fine ? all of the screen shots were done on WIndows 7 except for the context menu which was on XP.
