Sort a row or column in MS Excel

Microsoft Excel 2007 allows you to sort your data in columns by default. If you want to sort rows in excel 2007, follow the steps given below:

• Highlight the data to be sorted.
• Go to the Ribbon and select the Data tab.
• Select Sort in Sort & Filter section.
• In the Sort window, click the Options button.
• In the Orientation section, select the Sort left to right radio button.
• Click the OK.
• Now use the dropdowns in the Sort window.
• Select the desired row and how you want it sorted.
• Ten click OK.

You can also follow these steps:

• Start Microsoft Excel and open the file you want to change.
  
• Drag over the two or more columns or rows that you want to sort.
  
• Open the Data menu and select Sort. The Sort dialog box appears.
  
• Select the Continue with the Current Selection option to sort a single column or row.
  
• Select the Expand the Selection option to sort a series of columns or rows.
  
• Choose Ascending or Descending to determine the sort order.
  
• Click the Options button in the Sort dialog box.
  
• Select "Sort top to bottom" in the Sort Options dialog box to sort a column.
  
• Select "Sort left to right" in the Sort Options dialog box to sort a row.
  
• Click OK in the Sort Options dialog box.
  
• Click OK in the Sort dialog box.
