Change Default Identity of Windows Operating System

If you are accessing windows XP as your operating system then this tip will help very much. Do know about this? Not many of us know that we are able to change the windows operating system default identity which is actually known to be Computer Manufacturer Logo and other such information and you are able to share some private identity at that particular option. For initial information you just have to right click on My Computer and then click on Properties, here you are able to view computer manufacture logo or if possible some empty area. So you are able to add your own logo in order to make your computer more private.

Re: Change Default Identity of Windows Operating System

Steps to Change Windows System Default Properties Identity:

Initially click on Start button and then type in notepad as Run option and then press Enter.

Now try to type the following text inside the notepad:

[General]
Manufacturer= "XYZ"
Model= "XYZ"
[Support Information]
Line1="We try to provide help topics which includes complete computer Tips and computer oriented Help."
Line2="Try to visit daily for interesting and new tips"

There are some standard keywords, for example Manufacturer, Model, Line 1, Line 2; you are not able to change these keywords. Now try to save the notepad file in c:/windows/system32 folder with file name, OEMINFO.INI.

Try to select favorite image to set as logo, with the help of any image editor and try to resize the image approximately upto 150X150 pixels then try to save it in c:/windows/system32 folder with file name OEMLOGO.BMP.

Now just close all files and reboot your computer as to changes to take effect . In order to cross check the changes, just right click on My Computer and then open Properties.

Below General tab, try to cross check the system properties with new settings.

You can now click on Support Information for accessing more details.
