With the conditional formatting in Excel, you can automatically change the formatting of negative numbers to display in red.
- In Excel, select the cells containing numbers.
- Click Conditional Formatting in the Style box in the Home tab ribbon Office.
- In the menu that appears, click New Rule.
- In the Select a type of rule, select the Apply formatting to the cells that contain.
- In the description of the rule, the list scroll between and select the option below.
- In the field that appears next, enter the number 0.
- Then click the Format button ...
- Pull down the list and choose the color red. Click OK.
- Validate by OK.
- Now, all negative numbers are displayed in red.
