View the Contents of Compressed Archieves Before Downloading

Generally when we try to download any of the required files or software files or application files, they are present in a rar or zip file format. Sometimes they are what we want actually or sometimes they are just useless or some times they are containg some malicious infectors. In short we don't know what are we downloading. Just by name or after download we get to know what we recieve as a download from internet. Many files we usually download from the Internet are in Zip or Rar format which actually prevent us from knowing whether the file conatins necessary contents or not. We will nevere download an archive in order to search the file we are finding for is actually not there. And it is also a waste of Bandwidth, time and effort to download the entire archive for just a single file.

So do we have any solution regarding this. And the Answer is YES!!!

Archview which is a Firefox addon help you to have a preview of the contents of an Archive before downloading that particular file. Using Firefox Addon you will make you be able to download a single file from the archive.

With Firefox Addon you will be supported by RAR, ZIP and ISO format but that is actually more than enough as these are the 2 mostly used format and genuine formats being used by everyone. Archview addons is available inside the stats bar and thus turns and gets activated when the user tries to click on a zip or rar file or format link. It will also display the contents inside that particular file approximatelly the entire content and thus provides the files of the archive in an XML or HTML format. And the best feature is it even allows you to download single file from an archive, so not essential to download a huge MB archive for a required file of 100 Kb which is inside the original format file.
The future version which will be comming soon also consists of addons which supports 7z format. It will also support Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 as web browser apllication. It is definitely a great addon application for saving a lot of bandwidth, time and effort.
