    Password request in Scheduled Tasks

When you want to use the "scheduled tasks" in Windows to run a program such as days or hours, a password is requested / required so that the scheduled task is run.

    Caution

    We must modify the registry.
It is necessary to know that changing the registry is risky!
If you are sure of what you do, go to the next stage, but in all cases, save it!

    Put into practice

    • Now we will launch the Registry Editor (Regedit):
    • Open the Start menu, then click Run, type regedit and Press Enter. This window opens:
    • Pull down the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Lsa:
    • Double-click limitblankpassworduse and change the variable by assigning the value0
    • Click OK, reboot and check ! The password will be required to use the scheduled tasks.

Re: Request password in Scheduled Tasks

Scheduled Tasks cannot run with a blank password After you schedule a task by using the Scheduled Tasks tool, the task may not run at the time you chose. If you view the status of the task, you may receive the following error message:
The scheduled task did not run because no user account password was entered.

This behavior can occur if the user account you used when you created the task has a blank (null) password. When you add a scheduled task to your Windows XP-based computer, you must provide a user name and password for the task. If you are using a local user account, the user password cannot be blank.
