The most advanced applications accept parameters that start when you activate the call of the program by the command line. In this area, Outlook 2007 is no exception and also has its advanced settings.

Launch commands are commands that alter the normal start of the application. To use them, several choices available to you:

- Open Outlook from the Run menu by pressing [Windows] + [R] and then typing:
OUTLOOK /command

* Open Outlook from the Start menu of Vista or Windows 7 by opening the menu with a brief pressure on the [Windows] and typing in the search field:
OUTLOOK /command

The available commands are:

* OUTLOOK /cleancategories
This command deletes all the names of categories you have created categories and reset to their default values.

* OUTLOOK /cleanclientrules
This starts Outlook requesting the removal of all management rules. It is therefore advisable not to use it after having exported the rules by going to the Tools menu select Rules and Alerts ... then to Options to select Export Rules.

* OUTLOOK /cleanviews
This starts Outlook restoring default views. It is very convenient if Outlook is unable to display certain signs or certain views.

* OUTLOOK /cleanpst
This starts Outlook with a new file "Outlook.pst" blank. Warning: this option is dangerous and can lead to the removal of all your emails, contacts and appointments.

* OUTLOOK /finder
This function directly launches the advanced search box in Outlook. It is very useful to directly create a search icon on the Windows desktop through the wizard to create shortcuts to the desktop.

* OUTLOOK /nocustomize
This starts Outlook without taking into account the customizations file "Outcmd.dat" which contains all the customizations of the toolbars. This is very useful when spyware has infected Outlook and prevents its successful launch or when the setup file is corrupted.

* OUTLOOK /noextensions
This command launches Outlook mode "without fail". In this mode, all extensions are disabled. This is very useful in case of infection by spyware or extensions of your antispam experiencing a malfunction.

* OUTLOOK /resetfoldernames
If the PST file you use is from a foreign version of Outlook (because you have for example at a time used a beta version of Outlook), this command resets the names of files not editable (like Inbox, Sent Items , etc..) in the language being used.

* OUTLOOK /resetnavpane
If the navigation pane in Outlook is damaged or defective, use this command to reset it.

* OUTLOOK /resettodobar
This command resets, clears and regenerates the panel "to do" (taskbar) in Outlook 2007.

* OUTLOOK /sniff
This starts Outlook forcing detection in the inbox of all new requests for appointments and automatically in the calendar.

* OUTLOOK /c
Outlook /c ipm.activity = opens directly into Outlook mode adding new entry in the log
Outlook /c ipm.appointment = adds a new appointment
Outlook /c ipm.contact = adds a new contact
Outlook /c ipm.stickynote = adds a new note
Outlook /c ipm.task = adds a new task to
Outlook /c ipm.note = opens Outlook create a new email message.

* Outlook /a "filename"
This command automatically creates a new email with attachment as the file passed as a parameter.
