A screen is an image used in the background of your desktop.
In a first use, Windows sets a screen (also called wallpaper) by default.
You can change the screen as you like.
For Windows XP and earlier versions
- Right-click on the desktop> click Properties
- Then select the Desktop tab
- This window is expected to appear
- To change the screen, you have two options:
- Or choose the background from the list defined by Windows (in red)
- Or choose the background of your own image files (yellow box)
- Click on Browse (yellow box)
- Go to the folder where your images are stored (usually "My Pictures")
- Select the image you want and click Open
- Now the picture you have chosen is in the predefined list of Windows.
- Under "Browse", you can choose the position and background color (if your image does not take 100% of the size of the screen). The different positions are:
- "Stretch" It stretches your image to take the whole screen, which can distort your image according to its dimensions.
- "Center" This option allows you to focus your image in the middle of the screen. If your image is too small, the non-covered with the screen image will be a background color. If instead it is too large, then only the center of the image is displayed.
- "Mosaic" That shows a lot of times your image size on the screen.
- Then simply click Apply, then OK to apply your new wallpaper.
- Another solution exists from a folder in My Documents included.
- Simply select the image by right-clicking (without opening it) and click "Set as desktop wallpaper" on the left side panel from the menu Image Management.
