Some essential functions of the system, which has to rely on regularly, are difficult to access because they are hidden in the tree in the Start menu or in the inner panel. Fortunately, a very nice small gadget brings all these key features of the system to a click in the pane Vista!


This gadget, called "Vista Commands", can be placed in both the pane on the desktop and offers 10 shortcuts around 10 core functions of Vista.

Start by installing the gadget in question:
  • To access the download page, click on this link.
  • Click on Download, then click Install, and then click Open (or Run, depending on your browser)
  • Click Install. The gadget will appear in the Vista pane.

Now that the gadget is downloaded and installed, it gives you access one click to ten key features of Vista. Each button is a feature:
  1. Msconfig: Provides access to MSConfig, the utility that oversees the multi-boot Vista (allowing you to choose the default, for example) and applications launched to boot.
  2. SnapShot: launches tool "System Restore".
  3. DiskMngr: launches the disk manager of Windows, the tool which can redefine the disk partitions with Vista.
  4. DevMngr: launches the famous "Device Manager", which allows the device to verify that all devices are installed.
  5. Services: launches the application management "services", these applications that have been grafted to the heart of Windows.
  6. AdminTool: opens directly Panel Administrative Tools.
  7. Printer: Opens manager printers Vista
  8. Network: opens directly manager network connections which avoids passing through the Network and Sharing Center.
  9. Software: opens the module "Programs and Features", i.e. the application to add and remove programs from Windows.
  10. WinOptApp: provides direct access to the module "Easier", the tool management functions of the system to install and uninstall.
