To install Windows Live Messenger, a "file sharing" is created in the workstation, which can share documents with certain contacts.
For those who do not use this function and want to remove this element of the job, this is the way forward.
Editing the registry manually
This solution appears to operate in all positions. Remember to save your registry before any intervention.
Delete the file-sharing
1. In the registry (Start> Run> regedit), go to:
- HKLM_SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ MyComputer \ NameSpace \ (FC9FB64A-1EB2-4CCF-AF5E-) 1A497A9B5C2D
2. Add the sign "-" ( 'less') to "(FC9FB64A-1EB2-4CCF-AF5E-) 1A497A9B5C2D" to get:- "- (FC9FB64A-1EB2-4CCF-AF5E-) 1A497A9B5C2D."
Restore the file-sharing
- Do the same, but by removing the sign "-" before the registry key.
