Often recover a computer with a registered user and you want to change the name of yours. Imagine that the former bears the name of OldUser and you want to change that NewUser.
  1. Click on Start / Control Panel / User Accounts and select the user name cursed.
  2. Click on the link Change my name.
  3. Enter the new name and then click the Change button portrait.

The failure of this method is that Windows Explorer will not change and that the directory \ Documents and settings continue to display a folder in the user name OldUser. Here is a more effective method:

  1. Log into the Administrator account: For this close your current session and once on the home screen made 2 times CTRL + ALT + DELETE
  2. Create an account with administrator privileges by opening the module User Accounts in Control Panel.

It must bear the name you want, but here if we follow the example we will NewUser.
  3. Log off Administrator then open your new session NewUser.
  4. Log off and then log back on the Administrator account.
  5. With the right mouse button click the My Computer icon and then click Properties.
  6. Click the Advanced button in the user profile section.
  7. Select the name of your old account (OldUser!).
  8. Click the Copy button.
  9. Click the Browse button and select the new folder: \ Documents and Settings \ NewUser.

Click OK then validate the message warning you that the previous information will be lost.

Tick to the rest and then log off.

Log on to the account NewUser to verify that everything works.

Remove the previous Users Accounts in the Control Panel. Choose to delete all files related
