How to Speed up SATA hard drives in Windows Vista
If you use any Serial ATA hard drives, you can significantly improve their management and accelerate the transfer of data, writing and reading, by activating a mode optimized for Vista.
1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
2. Click on an audio equipment.
3. Click Device Manager.
4. Deploy the Disk drives tree. Click the right mouse button on the drive to accelerate and click Properties.
5. In the resulting window, open the Policies tab.
6. Check the boxes, Optimize for better performance, Enable write caching on the disk and Enable advanced performance and click OK.
7. Repeat for your other hard drives.
