Locking Windows Vista is a good way to secure your PC.Normally you can lock Vista by clicking on the padlock icon on the start menu or by pressing WINDOWS KEY + L. However, you can easily add an icon to the desktop to perform this same task.To add desktop icon follow the following easy steps:

1. First, right click on the desktop and select New then click on Shortcut.
   
   
2. Now, A create shorcut window will apear in the location text box write the following command:
   
   
   
   "rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation"
   
   
   
   
3. Now click on next and then enter the title of the icon as per your wish and click on finish.
   
   
4. Your icon will now be placed on the desktop, and double clicking it will lock your PC.
