Extract the sound of a video

You have a video file that you want to recover the soundtrack?

    Extract to WAV with VLC

To do this, we must first recover VLC Media Player at the following address:
    Download VLC

    Then, after installation:
    1. File menu => Open File (advanced)
    2. File tab => Browse button to open the file or mpg or avi wmv, which wants to extract the soundtrack
    3. Click on Settings
    4. Check File + filename = "toto.wav" (put the full path to be sure)
    5. Encapsulation method = Wav
This is the choice of container
    6. Audio Codec s16l = 128 kbit / s or 192 kbit / sec (= 2 channels for stereo)
    7. Click OK 2 times to start the extraction of the sound (sometimes size. Wav output: 600MB for an hour of music!)
Note: You can choose other audio codecs VLC

From the WAV file, you can use software to encode it in another format (MP3, OGG, ...). MediaCoder is probably the most comprehensive software for audio and video conversion.
