You will need to provide all necessary information to prove that the account belongs to you before you can redefine the password of your Windows Live ID.
The information to be provided
- Your email address (including Windows Live ID).
- Your name and surname.
- Your date of birth (month / day / year).
- Your country.
- The state, province or department in which you reside.
- Your zip code.
- The IP address of each computer used to access your account, or one most commonly used. To find your IP address, visit: http://www.whatismyip.com.
- The answer to your question (if you do remember, notifying it).
- The e-mail address relief is registered for this account (if no relief address notifying it).
- Your ISP (Internet at work or at home).
- The date and approximate time of your last successful connection.
To provide information
For Windows Live Hotmail users
- Examples of names of files that you created in addition to those by default.
- Examples of contacts in your address book.
- Examples of titles of old emails in your inbox, or in cases of messages.
For Windows Live Messenger users
- Examples of contacts in your contact list.
- The nickname by which you appear on Windows Live Messenger.
For Xbox Live users
- The number of prepaid card for your Xbox (This information must match the email address you used to connect).
For subscribers to paid services (Windows Live Hotmail Plus or Microsoft Office Live)
- The last four digits of your payment.
- The full name as it appears on the card.
- The expiration date of your payment as it appears on your card.
As soon as the technical support Windows Live ID will receive this information, it will examine and you'll quickly be answered.
And once you have found your password and your account (or when you create a new), it seems wise to choose a good password.
