How much RAM is installed in your PC?
How much RAM is allocated?

Everything depends on the operating system and use of the PC.

The greater the amount of memory, the greater the gain in performance which is significant. But installing more than 512 mb (or 1024 for a recent system) will benefit not only for the use of 3D software but also for various resource utilizers (games, video editing, design software ...).

The following values are minimum given as indicative. These values can vary depending on the processor and peripherals installed.

OS: Windows XP
Use: Office + surf Internet

Ideally, it will set the size of the swap to 1.5 times the amount of RAM installed.
  • To adjust the size of the swap, go to:
  • Start> Control Panel> System
  • Under Vista: Advanced System Settings
  • Under other Windows: Advanced
  • Under "Performance", click "Settings"
  • Go under the Advanced tab
  • Under "Virtual Memory", click "Edit"
  • Set the amount of RAM on a hard and fast with enough free space, according to the following criteria:
  • Initial size = 1.5 times the amount of RAM installed.
  • Size = 2 times the original size.
