I restarted the browser as well as computer but it did not worked for me at all. also searched on the Google to get the appropriate solution but I was not able to get anything useful. To resolve the issue you have to do the following.
    • Quit Safari if you have already opened.
    • From the finder you have to press and hold Option key.
    • Now select Go and you have to go for Library from the menubar.
    • You can get the reading list from Safari or Bookmarks.plist from Library folder. You will have couple of solution that means restore your file from backup. Or you should move the file to Desktop and restart the browser.
    • Now import old bookmarks files.

Another solution I wanted to tell you over here.
    1. You should click on Safari and go for Preferences and click on Bookmarks.
    2. Here you have to uncheck and recheck Include Reading List checkbox.

Re: Safari cannot access reading list

Well I am suggesting below mentioned steps to resolve the issue.
You have to close Safari in case it is already opened.

Now choose /Applications/Safari from the finder and launch Info window. You will see a window which would be labeled as Open in 32-bit mode. You have to uncheck the box if you have already checked the same.

    Now close it.

After that go for Library folder and remove below mentioned file.
    Code:
    Caches/com.apple.Safari
    Caches/Metadata/Safari
    Saved Application State/com.apple.Safari.savedState
    Once done restart the browser.

Re: Safari cannot access reading list

If any of the above mentioned solutions are not working then give a try to below mentioned steps.

You should move the below mentioned file to desktop.

    Code:
    Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Also delete the below mentioned list

    Code:
    Cookies/Cookies.binarycookies
    Cookies/Cookies.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.LSSharedFileList.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist
    PubSub/Database
    Safari

Re: Safari cannot access reading list

I was suffering from the same issue but I resolve the problem by deleting below mentioned file.
    Code:
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    com.apple.Safari.plist.lockfile
    com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist
    com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist.lockfile
I hope it will be helpful to someone.
