Bug found in Opera 11.60 that makes search in text area useless.

I was editing an article on Wikipedia in Opera 11.60. It was large article and I wanted to search a word in the article being edited. So I pressed ctrl+f to search the word. When I found the word highlighted, I clicked on the word but my cursor went to the beginning of the whole text. Thinking it was a bug present on Wikipedia, I ignored it. But again the same problem occurred while editing text on other websites. Can anybody help me with it?

This problem is present in many versions of Opera. The last stable version of Opera was version 11.52. It did not have the bug. This bug may appear as sometimes version of your Opera will not be compatible with version or type of OS you use. This bug appeared in Opera 11.52 when used in Windows XP SP2 but was not present in Windows XP SP3. Also Ubuntu 11.10 produced this bug in Opera.

The bug you have mentioned is categorized as Minor bug. It does not affect any main function of Browser or system. It only loses the position of cursor. You can wait for release of next stable version of Opera if this bug is disturbing your work so much. You can also down grade the version your version of Opera. You can find or install the older version Opera in your system. This might help as this problem never occurred when you used old version of Opera.

You can solve this problem by creating a JS user that saves the position of cursor in text area. It is preset included in Wikipedia. You can install JS user as follows,
    1) Create a folder in your system which will store JS files.
    2) Go to the JS user on GitHub and right click on ‘raw’.
    3) After the right click you will get a menu with an option to save Linked content. This linked content is to be saved in JS folder on your system.
    4) Now in Opera, go in Options find Javascript options.
    5) In javascript option add the destination of your JS folder.
