How can I prevent remembering previous state on Safari 5?

Recently I have upgraded my system with Lion. After doing that Safari is remembering previous state when I closed the browser and re opening it. I mean tab which was generated by opening a web page is being displayed next time I launch Safari on my computer. how can I disable that particular feature? Thanks a lot in advance.

Looking at the situation I recommend following steps.
    • You have to go for System Preferences and Click on General.
    • Now you have to uncheck the windows to reopen to last page checkbox.

I am aware of terminal command which you can run and see whether it helps you out.
    Code:
defaults write com.apple.Safari NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -int 0
also you can press Command-Option-Q while quitting apps to prevent the remembering of active windows.

I was searching over internet and came across following solution.
You have to launch terminal and run following command.
    defaults write com.apple.Safari ApplePersistenceIgnoreState YES
if you wanted to resume new behavior then you should execute above mentioned command and make changes Yes to No, whatever is applicable.

As you are supposed to close Safari you have to click on the Safari menu bar. As you scroll windows you have to press the Options Keys and you have to go for Quit changes so that you can Quit and Discard Windows. You will need to hold Options key while doing the same. after doing the same whenever you will launch Safari it will simply open desired Home page only.

If you are running Lion on your computer then you can give a try to below mentioned steps.
    • You have to open Library folder and look for ‘Saved Application State’ folder.
    • After that you have to launch folder and delete everything in side of it and lock this particular folder so that Lion cannot write on it.
    • Once done you have to search for the file which is having below mentioned path.
    • Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.loginwindow.7E0D66E6-A59D-5A32-8C38-5ECD4D0 C0C81.plist
    • Close the file and make sure that you have closed all the program running except finder.
