In most of the cases, the scam begins with an attempt to send an email to the potential victim. If you know someone on the chat and you decide to see him live, make the first appointment in a crowded public place and not go to the appointment alone is a sufficient precaution to avoid unpleasant surprises.

The content of an email or a text message hook is designed to trigger an impulsive reaction from you. These e-mails you announce a new exciting and overwhelming or you require immediate response under false pretenses. Phishing e-mails are usually not personalized. In general, the messages will ask you to hook to update, validate or confirm your account information, otherwise, the consequences could be unpleasant. One might also ask you to make a phone call.

    Here are some Preventive measures:
    • Make cautious to the emails or text messages in which you are asked to provide on the personal or financial information (financial institutions of credit cards usually do not require their customers to confirm their information by email).

    • Never send personal or financial information by email.
    • Avoid clicking on links that are embedded in emails that claim to direct you to a secure site.
    • Make it a habit to check the address bar of the website to see if the address is different from that contained in the email.

Re: What are the common email scams

Use separate email addresses for your various online activities: create an email address that you provide only to secure personal and professional relationships and create email addresses for other online activities. If your e-mail addresses are flooded with spam, delete them. Choose an email address consisting of a combination of letters and numbers. An email address complex prevents spammers to find your email account easily by using software that combines the first and last names randomly. Do not post your email address anywhere. Posting your email address anywhere on the Internet will attract spam. Add your email address only to people you know and who you trust. Spammers collect email addresses using various software, such as robots that search the Internet for email addresses to add them to their lists. If you are inundated with spam, change your email address.

Never open a spam message, reply to or click on the "delete" or "unsubscribe". This confirms your email address and you will receive more spam. Spammers can reel of your personal data by practicing "phishing" (fishing for personal data).

The "scam" is a fraudulent practice. The method of fraud is classic: you receive an email from the only descendant of a rich African who died recently. This person has deposited several million dollars in a financial security company and contact the person who needs a foreign partner to help you transfer the funds. It is also willing to pay a not insignificant if you provide an account where the funds transfer.

There is only one way to avoid this, just don’t open the emails when you don’t know the sender. You can delete that directly and this will prevent you from the frauds.

Once you got any scam from any ID then you must mark that as scam before deleting that so that you will not get more emails from that ID in future.
