Why Firefox only able to download attachment as "attachment.ashx"

Two days before i installed firefox 8.0 on my windows xp and now i found bug on it. When i try to simply download any attached documents on my system, i found that firefox only able to download it as a "attachment.ashx". I try this process during email accessing on firefox. right click on attachement and select save as option gives me such result. Which is not helpful for most of the cases. I never get such result on any other browser. Hence i want to do something on firefox for fix this problem. Thanks for any such help.

For fixing this issue, simply type about:config in address bar of firefox and press enter. Select 'I'll be careful , i promise!' button. Locate the browser.cache.disk_cache_ssl property. If you found it, replace it to false. That's it. It helps to download selected attachments in proper extensions.

Use other solutions that i already did on my firefox browser. Its well for me and i think your can also get the positive output after downloading attachment files. Simply remove the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder. Reopen your browser. You can able to get the downloaded file in proper extensions.

This is a known bug in Outlook Web Access. Firefox might be not able to collaborate with the Outlook Web Access. Hence if possible then you can simply avoid usage of this Outlook Web Access. Its work ful for you. Hope you got result.

If it is a bug in the OWA software, then you can try to update your Outlook Web Access software. Its also works for you. For this update process apply below process:

• Open Microsoft.com and expand "Downloads & Trials" tab.
• Select "Download Center." and enter "outlook web access update."
• Choose proper OWA update to download. select "Download" and "Save File." option.
• Select "Run" after completing download.
• It apply update to Outlook Web Access.
