Zoom Google Maps with scroll wheel in Opera 12

It seems to me that now in Opera 12 there are more than a few bugs which need to be fixed very soon. The major problem I have come across was the zoom by the use of mouse scroll wheel doesn't work in support of Google Maps to any further extent. It works within Firefox as well as Google Chrome.

It is possible to zoom to a higher level on Google Maps. Although the approach is not reached we can find in Google Earth, it has improved from what we could see before.

Re: Zoom Google Maps with scroll wheel in Opera 12

It appears that Google Maps has in its database areas photographed with an accuracy of a few meters, on which it is possible to zoom in until you see clearly objects having a size of several centimeters. From now double click on the maps of Google Maps is also to focus zoom instead of just centering the map on screen. Double right-click zoom out a level-on a Mac with one mouse button to zoom out would be the combination Ctrl + double click. As usual it is possible to operate the zoom using the + and - and the position on the map with the cursor arrow keys.

Impressive hack discovered from Philipp Lenssen Blog, changing the URL of the pages on the satellite view (although aerial photos) of Google Maps is accessible to a much more powerful zoom that offers the service by themselves in some locations. In some of the catches can perfectly distinguish people on the beach, to the point that with a little luck (the outlook remains vertical) could be identified to some.

Use Google Earth - Or just use Google Earth and make a superzoom in anywhere. If no suitable image resolution is pixelated, of course, but sometimes it is useful to zoom beyond the resolution of the image in order to view a detail.

Re: Zoom Google Maps with scroll wheel in Opera 12

It has been published on the web a trick to see closer and in more detail some places on the planet, such as the desert, the Googleplex pool or the last photos taken of Australia. I will explain the trick:
  • Choose a location and switch to satellite view
  • About as much as the image that allows you to Google Maps and click on the link "Link to this page" link at the top right.
  • In the address bar URL changes from the value of z = 19 other higher e.g. 20, 22, 23 and wait. In some locations you will see a more detailed image.
  • You can scroll through the images with the super zoom on without problems.
