    Where to download bcupdate2.exe

    According to the Microsoft Support Center, I will have to have the bcupdate2.exe to repair the crashed system and along with that, I should have to repair the Hard drive. As it is giving me the error that says "ntldr is missing". When I tried to restart my computer then it referred me some site for downloading the file but the file was not available there. I am having the Windows XP Pro installed on my computer. So can anybody tell me that from where and how I can download the bcupdate2.exe? I will be thankful for all the replies.

    This difficulty may happen if the MFT root folder is harshly fragmented. If MFT root folder has a lot of files then the MFT might become very disjointed that an added allocation index is produced. Since files are mapped alphabetically within allocation indexes then the NTLDR file might be pushed to subsequent allocation index. When this happens, you be given error message which is described within "Symptoms" segment. Normally, files are not written toward root folder. This state might happen if a program frequently makes and take away temporary files within root folder otherwise if a lot of files are copied to root folder mistakenly.

    The difficulty might be what you have previously explained that the XP pro does not distinguish an OS installed and looks it like an unfilled partition. So my deduction is jumpers (within back of the HDs) are not configured correctly. They must be put in MA (master) contacts intended for XP Pro as well as in SL (slave) contacts intended for Home HD. [master within end of IDE channel and slave within center) I am not certain that this will contain some effect but HD devoid of correctly configured "jumpers" are not predictable by chief OS, therefore there's a superior possibility that this can resolved it.

    From my point of view, would be more practical to install the HD does not start only at the end Master IDE channel and try to boot with a bootable floppy disk that contains the edited Boot.ini file for Windows XP Home logon to create the boot disk you can copy files from XP Pro and edit the boot.ini file. Format the floppy on the command line (DOS) in the form of the command and copy the three files, but to modify the boot.ini file;
