firefox is not downloading anything

I am using firefox for internet browsing and downloading. But since last few days it showing error ,when I click on download link to download anything it don’t get downloaded. if I save some images it shows that images saved but it don’t get saved. When I click on any downloading link it shows its downloading initially but nothing really happens. Can anybody guide me in solving such problem.

Sometimes this problem arises when your download gets restricted with your downloading speed. If your downloading speed is very slow it will give you such problem. If this is not the reason then goto profile folder while firefox is runnning delete downloads.rdf file. This is mainy because somtimes your cancelled downloads and finshed downloads are not cleaned up from download list. Go to tools there in downloads and do cleaning.

firefox may face problem in downloading files if the folder to which downloaded files are saved ,has some short of problems.If this is the senn then we need to change the folder in which downlods needs to be saved.To do so click on the tools menu of firefox window and then select Genral panel option. there you select download section inthat select saves file to any folder name that you can browse.Choose any new folder for downloads. This can solve your problem.

If your firefox is having problem in only downloading few kind of files only. Then go to managing files types and see how different types of files are handled.There we can make changes as well. Here we can reset actions needed for downloading all kinds of files. Goto firefox window open troubleshooting tab.In application Basics click opencontaining folder. select file menu and exit. Then rename the mime Types.rdf file to mime type.rdf.old ,in the end restart firefox.

To solve such problem remove download manager plugins. Download manager plugins may interfere with firefox downloads. firefox plugin folder download contains manager program and associated plugin filename to this folder download manager files get added. Have a look at troubleshooting plugins for instruction which will help in removing or disabling plugins. Once your plugins are disabled restart your firefox ,this time probabaly it will work fine.

The problem which you have mentioned can be solved in many ways because it would have been caused by many reasons. few solution you can try.first,check setting in security software to make sure that it is not blocking downloads. Antivirus scan program some times produces some delay in completion of downloads.Enable downloads blocked by security zone policy. In the end you can also delete all download history this may also help you in fixing the error.
