I cannot stream video at all in internet explorer 8

Just purchase a new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop. Internet explorer freezes up with no fail anytime I attempt to stream video as well as sometimes throughout standard website viewing. I have attempted the entire of the obvious things I be able to believe of. Ran performance troubleshooter with no results. Altered power settings to optimal performance (lowest power savings) as well as still is not assisting. So please tell me what I have to do to solve this.
