Internet Explorer 8: Silverlight.configuration.exe screen

I have recently installed Internet Explorer 8 on my computer. Well whenever I launch Internet Explorer 8it prompts with message on the screen which states that it is trying to access web ,Allow or Disallow. In this situation screen freezes instantly and I am unable to click on either of options. silverlight.configuration.exe Microsoft Corp is being displayed on the screen. I have to forcefully close Internet Explorer by task manager. Any suggestion for this particular situation will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

In this particular situation Silverlight is the root cause of the problem. I am providing following steps which you can apply to solve the matter.

Simply click on Start menu and go to Control panel.
Now you have to click on Add or Remove Program & Feature. Now search for Microsoft Silverlight.
Now click on Remove. Press yes if it asking for any confirmation.

Once it is uninstalled you have to restart your computer and try to run Internet Explorer whether it’s working or not.

Well in this particular situation I doubt that silverlight.configuration.exe might be a virus or Trojan. Hence use the following instruction to solve the matter.

You have to boot your computer in to SafeMode with Networking.
Now you should download Malwarebytes from the official website and install the same.
Now scan your system with Malwarebytes. Now restart your computer and Malwarebytes will remove all the viruses and malware detect.
So try it and let me know problem persist or not.

I am providing following steps which you can use to silvelight if you are having issue while uninstalling the same.

You have to run Registry Editor and search following registry.

Code:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Silverlight

Now delete this particular key by using following command

Code:

reg delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Silverlight /f

Now you can use the following command to remove Microsoft Silverlight from the program files.

rmdir /s /q "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Silverlight

Well I was having the same problem and I have used W7 Problem Steps Recorder to check out what exactly happening. So that I can find out more symptom regarding this problem. Well I have found that this particular issue as associated with Firewall which is installed on my computer. You should use above mentioned tools and also see whether Firewall is causing problem or not. Let me know if you come across with any solution.
