How to set-up a simple FTP server on Windows 7 Home Premium x64

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Os on my laptop. I am now planning to set-up a simple FTP server. I am making the use of Speed touch 516ADSL modem for my internet connection. I don't know how to do this? Is there anyone who is having some knowledge related with this topic? I am hoping that you will provide me the needed help on this issue. Thanks.

You can try out this settings on you system.
    1. First you need to go to the Filezilla
    2. Inside this open the edit option.
    3. Then you will require going to the Settings.
    4. Inside settings go to General Settings, then to the IP bindings.
    5. You need to set this to the external IP.
    6. Again go back to the General Settings and then select the Passive Mode settings option.
    7. Here you need to set the same external IP, which you have used earlier.

I think after trying this steps you will be able to make the setup.

I will recommend you to go for the other options, because i feel that FTP is older technique. You can go for the SFTP. SFTP is very easy to configure and it also having secure internet connection. You can try out this on your system. I am also making the using of SFTP on my system and i am very much satisfied with the performance of this server. Hope the solution which i am provided to you will help you out.

Re: How to set-up a simple FTP server on Windows 7 Home Premium x64

When i am trying to ping my external IP, it is giving me the message such as "Request timed out". Every time i am trying to do this, it is giving me the same message. It is working fine when i try to enter the computer's internal IP. I am making the use of DSL modem with my system. I have tried to disable the Windows 7 firewall and my DSL Firewall. Even doing this does not solve my problem. Do anyone is having any knowledge related with this issue? Please suggest me some solution on this problem. Thanks.
