Re: Google Apps for Lotus Notes Migration

The tool can be simultaneously up to 10 e-mail accounts from a server in Google's "cloud" transfer, you can also take groups and attributes of e-mails (eg "read") and e-mail folders to the exchange survive. Even mixed environments will be possible, so that employees who remain (still) use notes, book appointments with colleagues whose calendar is already seated at Google can. In addition, employees whose e-mails are encrypted automatically invited to decipher it, so you can migrate to electronic mail. Google, it is even possible, though not useful in any case, self-developed Notes applications, such as those that represent the work processes to migrate to Google App.

Re: Google Apps for Lotus Notes Migration

Earlier, Google has a tool ("Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook") are presented , with the one e-mail client Outlook to access e-mail, calendar and contacts with Google may use the popular. With the tool for easy migration from Lotus Notes clients on Google Apps, the search giant is now trying a piece of IBM's large share of the market to cut off for communication software. Because Lotus Notes is still behind Microsoft's Exchange mail server as the number two in the market, but claims to sell to this day about 145 million Notes licenses. Google is there still a small fish, but claims to at least 1.75 million business customers for Google Apps.

Re: Google launches Outlook plug-in for Google Apps

Google claims that its hosted communications solution will come to be significantly cheaper than those from Microsoft and IBM and it still provides some large companies as customers. Google offers fee-based subscribers to Google Apps Premier Edition a new synchronization plug-in for Microsoft Outlook client. Users can, via Outlook to access Gmail account and data - e-mail, calendar, directories, etc. - match between Gmail accounts and the client. Google hopes to encourage more companies by the plugin to move away from Microsoft's Exchange mail server. IT managers should be able to conduct such the (perhaps) switch to the desired cloud-age in the ways, without having to force the user trust in their organization to move away from the Outlook interface. (HJM) After attacking Microsoft and Outlook earlier this month, Google now targeting IBM's offering a new tool for migrating from Lotus Notes to its Google Apps.

The company has thus introduce Google Apps Migration for Lotus Notes allows users to transfer their email, contacts and calendar Lotus Notes to their equivalent such as Gmail, Calendar and Contacts. It is a native application servers run by Google that is offered free with the Premier version of Google Apps. Migration occurs transparently, without user intervention. It can continue to work with Lotus Notes for the migration process. Once the transaction is complete, Gmail open links with Lotus Notes Notes. The installed base of Lotus Notes is estimated at 145 million copies. And for a little more credibility to its bid, Google recently removed the logo "beta" contiguous to Google Apps. Side IBM is reassuring, explaining that the fact that Google has a migration tool is "not physically meaningful." Big Blue is "quite confident in the long term competitiveness of Lotus Notes.
