A certificate is a file that allows for secure web communications . Also known as digital certificates and public key certificate. The certificates are issued by trusted organizations such as VeriSign or RSA Data Security. When you access a secure web page , an online banking site for example , Safari verify the site certificate and compares it with certificates recognized and reliable. Safari does not recognize the certificate of the website or if the site does not, Safari will warn you.

Some websites have extended validation certificates , also known as EV certificates , which require further investigation by the certification bodies. Safari supports EV certificates . A secure website and Safari dialogue to encrypt the information you exchange with the site. The key used for encryption is in the site's security certificate . In this way , nobody can read this information when they are sent. Similarly , your login information , your credit card numbers and other confidential information is protected .

You need to check the address of the web
    * Make sure the address of the web page you have is accurate and that you have typed it correctly .
    * Try typing "/ index.html " at the end of the address.
Empty the cache and reset Safari

    * To empty the cache, press Control + Alt + E, then click Empty . Then press Control + R to reload the page.
    * If emptying the cache does not work, choose Action menu > Reset Safari and click Reset and try to open the page again . ( The Action menu is located next to the upper right corner of the Safari window and looks like a gear .)

If your computer or network is protected by a proxy server or firewall , make sure the network settings are correct and the Internet in the Control Panel. Incorrect settings can prevent Safari to connect to certain websites .
    Contact the website owner
    * The web page may prevent users from accessing the page with Safari. Check with the website owner to make sure.
    * Check if the first part of the address , which identifies the Internet protocol (eg http or https ) is nonstandard . If so , Safari can not open it.
    * Ask the website owner if there is a problem of web server configuration .
