A film with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio to present an image whose width is 2.35 times larger than its height ( the height is expressed by 1). In the television sector, the proportions of screen formats are expressed differently . We speak of 4:3 for a conventional TV and 16:9 for a widescreen TV ( such as high definition televisions ). But 16:9 is popular. Can anybody know that the reason. Please reply. Thanks in advance.

In 15-inch screens have been classics for a while : a report 4 / 3 , a definition of 1024 x 768 ( about 0.78 megapixels) and a resolution of 85 dpi. They are not currently available . The successors of the 15 inches are 17 inches in size 5 / 4 : 1280 x 1024 (1.3 megapixels) and 96 dpi . The 19 -inch provides the same definition and thus a resolution of 86 dpi. The second generation screen format is 16/10 and it is not usually found only 19 inches in this format. We work here in 1400 x 900 (1.29 megapixels ) with a resolution of 89 dpi. Finally , the last generations pass 16 / 9 , with a resolution of 1366 x 768 ( 1 megapixel) and a resolution ( 18 inches ) by 87 dpi . There are two types of screens : 24, 26, 27 and 28 -inch 1920 x 1200 (2.3 megapixels , 94 , 87 , 84 and 81 dpi respectively) and the 30 -inch 2560 x 1600 ( 4 megapixels, 101 ppi). Recent releases 16 / 9 go to 1080p ( 1920 x 1080 ) for 24 and 26 inches , 30 inches while still evolve . In fact, you lose work surface , in definition and resolution (92 dpi and 86 ) but the price decreases.

A netbook screen is usually 10 inches 1024 x 600 ( between 16/10 and 16 / 9 , 119 dpi ) , notebooks have screens of 13 inches or 15 in 1280 x 800 (113 and 98 dpi ) and two best sellers in the 32 -inch TVs are HD Ready ( 1366 x 768 , 49 dpi ) and 40 -inch full HD ( 1920 x 1080 , 55 dpi ). So it is more popular. I ask myself the interest of the screens 16 / 9 (or 16/10) from the moment you can not see the whole picture in full screen, where movies and 16 / 9 are not open screen , but always with black bars top and bottom.
