    Max virtual servers per physical server

    Today my service ( web , mail , file server ... ) corresponds to a physical server. But most of the time these servers are underutilized. In the end I pay more than what you actually use. If you need more power or memory, a simple reconfiguration of your Virtual Server enough. To provide maximum performance, we do not host more virtual servers than physical server can support. Can anybody know that how many max virtual servers can put per physical server ? Please help.

    Re: Max virtual servers per physical server

    A virtual private server or virtual dedicated server often abbreviated VPS or VDS is a method of partitioning a server into several independent virtual servers , each with the characteristics of a dedicated server . Each server can run a different operating system and restart independently. The user system can be fully virtualized, paravirtualized , or a hybrid of both . Examples of paravirtualization , Xen hypervisors are capable , Virtuozzo , Vserver, and OpenVZ ( which is open source and the development version of Parallels Virtuozzo Containers ).

    Like most businesses , you probably have a wide range of operating systems and applications running on virtual servers such as Microsoft Hyper - V, VMware vSphere ESX and Citrix XenServer . In an operational environment 24/24, 7 / 7, these applications must be protected , but remain available. In addition , to reduce costs associated with business continuity and disaster recovery , you must integrate virtual servers to your infrastructure disaster recovery. Another difficulty is the passage from one physical server to a virtual server in a production environment, minimizing the risk of interruption of service .

    If you are on this page is that you have one or more domain names or a specific project. Now, you need root access via SSH to customize the server settings and / or install new Linux software. You need to know about virtual servers DERTERNET.
    * They are ideal for people with multiple websites and trying to manage from a single interface .
    * They have root access via SSH.
    * You have more resources compared to a shared host .
    * You can customize everything (php.ini , Apache , configuring spam, ...)
    * You can install any Linux software you want.

    Having the authority to access an Internet server with administrator privileges can be used for many things :
    - Publish information on the Internet by creating web spaces
    - Disseminate photos, audio files, videos that users can download
    - Install applications PHP / MySQL available on the Internet ( diaries , blogs, calendars, directories , chat rooms, FAQ , documentation , forums , image galleries , groupware , games , guestbooks , mailing lists, newsletters, internal messaging , search engines , news , classifieds, portal , survey / voting, webmail , ... ).
