Screen blinking problem with Internet Explorer 8

I have a desktop machine and it is been installed with Windows 7. I use Internet Explorer 8 application to the system and the problem is that when I open the application the screen blinks. I have no idea for the thing why is this happening? Please do help me out so that I can make the changes to be worked. Hope to get a better solution.
