There are situations in which we visit a site without leaving a trace on it, you might have wanted to spy on the competition site. Your visit will be recorded in a log file from the server. Frequent visitors generate many records. Also according to me, you will have to install a firewall or DHCP. These records can provide information to the network administrator, information that is sent from our PC without our being aware. However, for the server to save these data do not need too sophisticated testing.

There have been cases of sites that have attempted to access the hard drive of the visitor (a somewhat extreme case). There are also thousands of cases involving cookies, java applets, javascript code and malicious code, security holes in browsers, etc, so the best option is to navigate through an intermediary that among the sites for us. If you want to know your ip address just go to http://www.ipchicken.com/ and then your IP Address will be shown to you.

Anyone can browse anonymously with the help of a wonderful service called "Anonymizer x" (http://www.anonymizer.com/3.0/index.shtml). Anonymizer does all the work for you, eliminating many potential hazards. When you follow a link that is in one page that you came via Anonimyzer, it also opens via Anonymizer, so you wont have to type in by hand all the addresses to which you want to go. This site gives you the option of paying the service or use it free, but if you use free we will find a number of constraints, such as a 30-second delay in downloading the page, and anonymous access only to sites with HTTP protocol (not HTTPS or FTP). On the other hand, there are sites that are inaccessible through Anonymizer, such as some e-mail servers for web.

It is also possible to achieve anonymity in sailing by lodging a proxy server. This service is similar to anonymizer, as the pages are requested by the proxy instead of the person who actually browsing. But there are some very important differences: the proxies do not filter cookies, applets or malicious code. In short, all they do is hide our geographical position. If you are using an Internet Explorer, then try the following steps :
View - Internet Options - Connections - check "Access the Internet using a proxy server." Where it says Address, Enter the name (example: proxy.datafull.com) and write PORT port number (eg 3128), click Advanced, and check where it says "Use the same proxy for all protocols."

Not all proxies are completely anonymous. Some of them let the system administrator (visit site) check the IP address from which you are connecting to the proxy, that is, our real IP address. Once you're using a proxy you will be able to get a test of anonymity at the following address: http://www.tamos.com/bin/proxy.cgi
If you receive the message "Proxy server is detected!" - Then there is a security hole in the proxy you're using, and web servers is able to find out your real IP. Information about your real IP will appear on the website. If the message you receive is "Proxy server not detected" - means you are surfing anonymously. Anyway I recommend to study carefully the list of IP addresses that the page we return. None of them should be yours. You can also do other tests to see if your browser is anonymous.

I would like to suggest you to use proxies only when necessary. Browse through proxies reduces the speed of data transfer. Another important consideration that people tend to forget: uses proxies for lawful purposes. Hide your identity is acceptable if the servers do not want to collect data about you, but if you hide your IP to buy CD's, books or software with a false credit card is a good chance you'll end up in jail, not counting moral aspects. The ADMINISTRATOR of the site could read the logs and contact the administrator of the proxy, and the latter read yours and find out your real IP, then both would contact your ISP and you have your name and address and if you used an account other is yours, at least have the phone from which you called ... I hope that is clear.

there are several plugins that can help to protect your privacy but if you really want your ip to be inaccessible you need some soft to manage it for you, webbrowser proxies are too slow most of the time.
i can tell about my own expirience using a software called cyberghost vpn.
great german software that reroutes all your traffic with a vpn tunnel.
all your stuff is being encrypted btw.
there is a free version and a permium on, depending on the amount of traffic you need.

SocksCap allows client applications based on TCP and UDP to pass through a firewall located on a server with SOCKETS. SocksCap intercepts calls made to the network from WinSock applications and redirects through a SOCKS server transparently to the applications or the operating system and drivers.

This is interesting: The tools that we can now be chained up! For example, if you are using the Proxy A, and you know the addresses of two proxies (Proxy Proxy B and C). The address you should ask would be something like http://proxyB:puerto/http://proxyC:p...w.lapagina.com ... As a result, agree to www.lapagina.com through 3 proxies Anonymous: A (that is configured in the browser) B and C (which are in the url you typed). Another more realistic example might be:
    http://proxy.usnowear.com:8080/http://proxy.barcelonaweb.com: 8080 / http://www.datafull.com

SocksCap is a program can be downloaded free website SOCKS. It is left to the public domain. Its use and distribution is restricted and subject to certain agreements. The source code is unavailable. SocksCap works regardless of the applications we use, but may have some problems in certain cases. The best way to know is that to prove it. You could refer to the table of applications with which users have reported success or failure. Get off the list in Section SocksCap http://www.socks.nec.com/ site. Write the address and port that you want to go through SOCKS server. If you're not sure what that means, contact your ISP or network administrator or firewall or query a list: http://tools.rosinstrument.com/proxy/1080.htm.
