TomTom 1xl stuck on usb screen

I have connected my TomTom 1xl with my computer using USB cable. The problem is that the screen where it shows connecting to the USB cable doesn't go off to the GPS. It doesn't even gets disconnected.

You need to reset TomTom via the pin or with some pointed thing. Press and hold the reset button for at least 10-15 seconds until it starts again. If this doesn't work then connect this power source with the help of the USB cable and repeat the same resetting procedure. This should work well.

You need to backup your TomTom in order to recover from stucking problem. Did you saved your initial setup somewhere? Go to the TomTom Home screen and restore the backup of your TomTom. I have seen this kind of problem and those solved this problem by backing up.

I think you should try out operating TomTom through TomTom Home. This will work if you don't have the backup. All you need to do is connect your TomTom with the site. This will update the TomTom file and you will get it operational soon. Simply connect to TomTom Home and select Operate and then finally click on OK. This will automatically update the device and you are done.
