    Error: 80040200

I am getting Error: 80040200 when I try to sign in to Windows Live Messenger. It says service is currently unavailable. But this was working until yesterday afternoon. I have used it yesterday afternoon to chat with my friends. I tried restarting computer, removing any temp files but nothing helped. Please help!

Common sign in problems to Windows Live Messenger involve contacts cache in Windows Live Messenger is corrupted; incorrect Date and Time settings in your computer or your firewall is blocking Windows Live Messenger service. To resolve this delete Windows Live Contacts folder. If that doesn't help then make sure that the Date and Time Settings on the computer are proper. If this isn't the case then recheck if Windows Live Messenger isn't blocked by your firewall.

I don't think this is the problem of firewall blocking since the person was using Windows Live Messenger initially. Suddenly your firewall would not wake up to block your WLM service. Not even Date and Time settings should have any effect on the WLM service. But I think contacts cache corruption may be a reason for such kind of problem. Just check it and see if that helps.

OK thanks for your helps guys but I don't really know how to check if its related to corrupted contacts cache. How can I check if that's the actual cause of the problem? If however you think that it should definitely be causing me the problem then how would I be deleting the folder? Where should I look for it? I am under Windows XP.
