I just update Windows Live Messenger a few minutes ago (I was also connected with the old version). After installation, so I want to launch the 2009 version. Obviously I click on the button "connect", but that does not work! The logo with the two fellows running indefinitely, and after a while crashes. I just try again, and I got the error code 80071392. Any idea? Please help. Thanks in advance.

You need to clear and reset the cache to resolve the DNS client, just run the command ipconfig / flushdns. Start Menu> Run and in the box that opens, type the above command then OK. You need to also check the Event Viewer module Administrative Tools in Control Panel. If still nothing, even when the best is to uninstall the application. And back to a previous version.

Open My Computer or the Windows Explorer, then C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Contacts. Right click the file wlcomm.exe> Properties> Compatibility Tab> Compatibility Mode> Run this program in compatibility mode for:> Select Windows XP and Windows 2000 Server 2003 (SP1) for Vista. If it still a problems and go always Properties> Compatibility tab> Check the box "Disable visual themes" and "Turn off advanced text services for this program."

To work around this problem, change the ASP code Dtclib.inc.
1. Add the line:

 Const cAlreadyExists2 = "80071392"

2. Change the line (# 572):

 if cstr (HEX (Err))! = cAlreadyExists Then

to

 if cstr (HEX (Err))! AND cAlreadyExists = cstr (HEX (Err))! = cAlreadyExists2 Then

This change allows the code belonging DTC accept the return code of ADSI 2.5.

If you do not want to use a patch or other add-on and you are using version 9 for Windows Live Messenger, you can check the following the steps outlined below:
1) Run Regedit in admin mode
2) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows Live
3) Right click on Messenger and create a new DWORD value named MultipleInstances.
4) Change the key value to a newly added
5) Close the registry and launch Messenger.

You need to use MessengerDiscovery that is an add-on like our Messenger Plus! Live it to setup Windows Live Messenger and to add new features. This new version is compatible with the latest version of Windows Live Messenger 2009. Here is a list of features MessengerDiscovery:

You need to also follow the procedure:
• Start the registry by typing regedit in run.
• Navigate to the directory: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows Live.
• In the Messenger folder, right click and select New => Dword 32 bit
• Name the MultipleInstances
• Double click it and enter as a value
• Close the registry and launch Windows Live Messenger by clicking on a shortened or directly from the folder.
