What does error code 503 means?

Hello friends,

I am IT student and currently studying the various internet technologies. During this I have to discuss one of my confusion which is related to the Http error codes. There are many Http error codes are available. I am not getting the exact meaning of error code 503. If you know anything about 'Http error code 503', then please let me know the same. Your any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 'HTTP error code' are those codes which are received only when the server is not capable to handle the request. This is because of either because access is overloaded or you are trying to update server pages. This issue will get solve by refreshing the page. The state of area code 503 is 'OR' and the location for the same is 'Oregon'.

An HTTP status code 503 indicates that your Web server is currently unable to handle the request because of a temporary overload or maintenance of your server. However, as it relates to WebSphere Application Server, this error indicates that your Web application is unavailable for some reason. HTTP 503 (service unavailable) error relates to WebSphere Application Server.

The Http error code 503 occurs when Web server is unable to handle the HTTP request because of the maintenance of the server. This is not the big Http, i.e this can be solve with some delay. In this type of Http error some servers refuse the connection to the socket. Because of that different error might be created due to the timed out of the socket creation.

Following are some reason which may cause error code 503:

• Web application of your system is disabled.
• Unsuccessful initialization of a servlet which is configured to load at the startup.
• The servlet is being disabled.
