To access your keychain, open Keychain Access Management (in /Applications/Utilities), or go to the Finder's Go menu and select "Utilities". In the lower left corner of the window Keychain administration "should be" Show Keychains are shown. Click once on "Show Keychains" or on the down-facing arrow icon. Select the upper left corner of the window to the top keychain named "login". (If "notification" is not visible, you are looking for a keychain with the same name as your Mac OS X account name. Depending on how the installation or upgrade of Mac OS X is done, possibly the account name instead of "application" appears.)

Ensure that the protection of your keychain is removed. The lock icon next to your keychain should be open (see above). When your Keychain is locked, select it and click the lock icon in the upper left corner. You will be prompted to enter your keychain password, which is probably the password of your Mac OS X user account represents.

If the password of your keychain is not the user password of your Mac OS X accounts (but satisfies both your passwords are known), you should keep your keychain password changing. Both the two passwords should be matched. Thus, the protection of the keychain can be automatically canceled when you are (log in to Mac OS X, or if you subscribe to) automatically when the computer starts.

Your keychain ( "Registration" or the keychain with the name of your user account) should be the default keychain. The default keychain appears in bold. If it is your keychain is not the default keychain:

    1. Select the keychain in the window "keyring" or "keychain management.
    2. Select the File menu command Keychain '(login or account name back)' as the default.
    3. Quit the Keychain Access Management.
    4. Restart your computer, or log off and log back on.
