There must be some problem with the version of the browser which is installed on the computer. All the applications which are installed on the computer have lot of files which are associated to it. If any of the files which are associated to the application are corrupt or missing on the computer then the application will not work properly. The only way to solve such problem is to replace all the corrupt and the missing files from the computer. Replacing the corrupt files will solve the problem. Uninstall the currently installed browser from the computer and then remove all the files/keys from the computer. Once all the traces of the application are removed from the computer, reinstall the browser and see if the browser works properly.

Are there any security software's installed on the computer? If yes then they could be creating the problem which you are facing. All the security softwares work on the principle of blocing all the unknown traffic originating and coming on the computer. Due to this tendency sometimes the traffic which is desired by the user is also blocked. Therefore try moving the process of the application to the trusted application list and then try to access the website. You can also try and disable the real time shield of the security software and then see if you are able to access the websites or not.

Have you tried using some other browser? There are many browsers which are available online which can be used for accessing the Internet. Google Chrome, Mozilla firefox and Opera are some of the browsers which are available. All the mentioned browsers have more or less similar features and hence can be used instead of Safari. Download one of the mentioned browser and install it on the computer. Once installed, check if you are able to access certain websites using the newly installed browser. If the websites open properly in the newly installed browser then uninstall the Safari whic is installed on the computer as there is something wrong with the installation of the browser.

You will have to change the preferences of the browser in order to access the websites. Some websites have SSL certificates which are expired or have untrusted roots. If the website with such SSL certificates is tried to visit, then the browser will block the website. Go to the preferences of the browser and then click on Manage certificates. Now remove the check mark from the option which says "Block the websites with expired SSL certificates" and save the settings. Once done, restart the application and check if the website can accessed or not.

I would suggest you to scan the system with some updated antivirus as there is a high possibility that the system is infected with some kind of virus. Some virus's have the tendency of linking with some files of the applications which are used frequently by the user. If such a situation occurs then the application whose file is infected will not work properly. Hence scan the system and check all the files which are corrupt. Repair or quarantine the files which are corrupt. Once done check if th browser is working properly or not. If the number of files of the browser which are infected are more then the browser has to be reinstalled.
