How to manage website color in Firefox

    Hi,
How to setup the color settings of any website on Firefox. I have some sites which depicts images of a interior concepts. In some places the colors are so blurry that I am not able to figure out the exact figure. Does Firefox offers any support or settings in managing the color settings of a web browser. If yes then how to that. This will be helpful for my pictures too.

Color management is a feature of Mozilla Firefox to display accurate images on a wide variety of screens. Very useful for amateur photography (Flickr), this option is disabled by default because of its negative impact on performance. However, if you want a better rendering display, a change in about: config will allow us to remedy this. In a new tab, type about: config in the URL bar. Pass on the warning and enter the following heading in the filter field: gfx.color_management.enabled. By default, this value is set to False. To reverse the deal, double-click it to go to True.

If you are using a older version of Firefox then you can do this. There is bit difference in this. Open a tab and enter about: config in the address bar. Search now heading through the field following filter: gfx.color_management.mode. It is now possible to choose between 3 values via a double-click. The value setting is 0 to disable color management, 1 to enable color management for all types of content (CSS / HTML, colors, images tagged treated with their profiles, images not tagged treated sRGB) and 2 to allow color management for images tagged only - i.e. those that have a defined color profile.

In the older version of Firefox by default, the value is set to 2 which is a balance between a full support or no color profiles. For photographers or experienced users, it is advisable to switch on the value 1. You can then restart the browse to validate the changes. To explore this issue of color profiles, I recommend the following readings. In Firefox 3 the color profile support to understand the value to enable this feature and why it is not enabled by default.

There are numerous settings in Firefox which can help you to do numerous color settings. Like Correcting Color Monitor Calibration Test Page which is used to test your monitor on shades of gray. If you go in the color management settings then you can manage the color profiles of Firefox extension. An important tip for an accurate rendering of colors, however at the expense of performance.

Try Kryptonite 23 a simple addon extension for Firefox to manage colors. In fact, Firefox 3 is capable of managing ICC profiles in images. However, the system is not activated by default and must configure the option to hand. You have to just go in about:cf and then in the filter line, type gfx. Then you must double click on the lignegfx.color.management.enabled to pass the value false to true.
