Safari - Failed to secure connection

    Hello,

I try to connect to the website of the government and use my electronic identity card and I have the following error:

    Failed to secure connection
    An error occurred while connecting.
The peer SSL failed to negotiate a set of parameters of safety.
    (Error code: ssl_error_handshake_failure_alert)
I work with Snow Leopard and the latest versions of Safari.

Can i try against these certificates?

    Thank you,

Re: Safari - Failed to secure connection

Update: The message in Safari, more complete, is "the site ccff02.*minfin.*fgov.*be] requires a client certificate. Select a certificate to use when connecting to this site, etc.: I do not have valid certification, it is unable to show this certificate "

Anyone know how to do this?

    Hi

Are you using a Proxy for your Network connection? have you tried out the another browser? try the firefox , it should work very well. I never get this warning with firefox, it automatically adds the security certificates or several sites automatically.

While in Keychain Access, click the Keychain Access -> Keychain First Aid, after entering your username and password, make sure that Checking is selected and click Start.

If there are problems , select the Repair button and click Start.

This should repair your keychain so that certificates (and therefore SSL connections) can be saved.

Re: Safari - Failed to secure connection

web server is likely requiring client to authenticate...in apache server it is in httpd.conf...."SSLVerifyClient require"
this requires you to have a "Your Certificate" loaded in Firefox...AND the CA certificate chains loaded as well.

the problem is that the Personal or CA Server certificates

might not be tied across the CA chains.
    might be expired.
    might be corrupted.

    try to
    reimport the personal certificate
reimport all CA referenced in the personal certificate

    HOWTO
    Tools,Options,Encryption,View Certificates
Your Certificates....Import your certificate from PKCS12 file *.p12
Servers, Import, certifiate files *.cer you may need several of these depending on the chain

Have you tried to look in Application Folder. You can click on the magnifying glass on the top side o the screen. Then in that types Safari. The profile in that indicates that the versio of operating system you are using. I am trying to search for the security settings there but nothing works there. The solution of importing the certificates is might much effective here.
