Mozilla Thunderbird and other mail clients, like Evolution, use the mbox format to store emails. However, the program does not directly incorporates an option to import such files, which can be a problem in cases such as moving an account to another computer or to migrate from Mozilla Suite to Mozilla Thunderbird. The extension ImportExportTools (formerly Mboximport) lets you import files in mbox format in Mozilla Thunderbird, and export as well post a full count. The extension also allows import and export using the eml format. Once installed the extension so we just have to use the new item created in the menu Tools / Import Export in mbox format / eml / Import mbox file and select the files to import. You can find the location of the mbox or eml files of your program in its documentation, for example, Evolution is in ~ / .evolution / mail. To export a single message, a specific folder, or a complete account we have only to use the right mouse button and choose Export and specify the destination where files are saved. |

| Re: How to import address book from Thunderbird to Evolution
For importing address book from Thunderbird to Evolution, it does not offer by default from its interface can be exported to a CSV (Comma Separated Values), but there is a semi-hidden utility that works through the command line. Run/usr/lib/evolution/evolution/2.x/evolution-addressbook-export - format = csv> contactos.csv where 2.x version of Evolution means that you have installed and "contactos.cvs" is an example of name. Open the Thunderbird Address Book and select Tools / Import / Address Books. When indicating the file to import from, choose the format of "Separated by commas and select the previous file," contactos.cvs. |

| Re: How to Import Outlook settings in Seamonkey ?
By extending MoreFunctionsForAddressBook , install an extension called MoreFunctionsForAddressBook enabling us to import an address book stored in VCard format, which is the format that offers Evolution by default. In Evolution, in point of contacts, select File / Save the address book as VCard and specify a file name. In Thunderbird, open the address book, select Actions / Contacts / Import VCard and open the file you saved previously. |
