| Unable to send emails using Mozilla Thunderbird
Hi, I can not send messages from my account via the mail client "mozilla thunderbird. Here is the message received: "Sending the message failed. The message can be sent due to a failure to connect to the SMTP server smtp.hotmail.com. The server may be unavailable or refusing SMTP connections. Verify that the settings for your server SMTP are correct and try again. Otherwise contact your network administrator ". I have changed on the 587, that does not solve the problem. I also tried turning off the antivirus and firewall, but same result. Why I am unable to send emails using Mozilla Thunderbird ??? |

| Re: Unable to send emails using Mozilla Thunderbird
Thunderbird can not work directly with Hotmail or Lycos accounts, vendors not implementing standard protocols, like POP and SMTP, and use proprietary code that only works with mail clients own the company. Alternatively youcan use the extension WebMail, which can work with these accounts like POP. They are currently supported by this extension accounts lycos, yahoo and hotmail. |

To avoid spam this kind of thing has been established. For example, you can disable this protection from your management console. Alternatively, the fact that you should enter your user credentials in the SMTP server settings. Again, to avoid spam you no longer Authorized to send mails without name. Also check that you have entered ID and password correct. |

Make sure you are using the correct settings for Thunderbird. A simple mistake that everyone makes is , My SMTP server requires authentication check box unchecked. This option should be always active, since the servers require authentication. |

| Re: Unable to send emails using Mozilla Thunderbird
If we do not specify an SMTP for each account, Mozilla Thunderbird will use by default for outgoing messages that we have configured the first account created. In the case that our outgoing server verifies the username and password, you receive an error message and the mail is not sent, to fix this one, we must configure this account to your own outgoing SMTP server |

If you are unsure whether to use POP3 or IMAP4, opt for using IMAP4, as it supports more features. If you access your email account online with the website outlook.com need the Windows Live ID credentials provided by your administrator and password. The Windows Live ID credentials are also your primary email address and include the domain name, eg yourname@contoso.com. |

In some cases, if you have configured Thunderbird to use IMAP, you must configure it to put sent messages in the Sent Items folder on the Exchange server. You can do as follows:
