    What is ISDN codec

A ISDN codec is a device used in broadcast engineering to drive sound reproduction digital audio over usual telephone lines. It is a hardware codec, apply with digital signal processing, is utilize to compress the audio data sufficient to travel at a bitrate equal to a 56k modem. therefore, it is a modem able to use simple old telephone service to send monophonic audio. Re: What is ISDN codec

The main use of a ISDN codec is for remote broadcasting. It is basically used in radio station. ISDN has the advantage of creature natively digital, and a full 64 or 128kb/s while using both channels, which consequences in fewer density and potential density object. Though, special lines must be run to a site, and must be prepared well in advance of the event so that there is abundance of time for installation. It is engineering term. Check it and reply.

    Re: What is ISDN codec

Basically ISDN is not fairly the same all over the world. Telecomms companies providers in different countries may use somewhat different ISDN protocols. When you buy a codec, you buy it with the right type of Terminal Adapter installed. Some terminal adaptor can be switch to work with dissimilar protocols; others are fixed to one or a range of them. This is only a case of you having the right tools to connect to your line somewhat like having a 110v or 220v toaster. You have to have the right power supply. Check that and reply.
