Safari do not work after reinstalling Mac OS X

    Hi,

I have an Mac, iBook PowerPC G4 Few days back, I had reinstalled reinstalling Mac OS X 10.5.8 from that time my Safari quits whenever I try to open it. The same happens with Firefox. Surprisingly, Netscape does not work (Netscape 7.2), but the version is too old that some pages do not open properly and the application is not supported. Can you tell me why Safari do not work after reinstalling Mac OS X ?? And the solution for this ???

If you reinstall Mac OS X (including via Archive and Install) and you do not upgrade to the version of Mac OS X you are using or a later version, it is possible that you are then not in a position open an application or its files. This problem does not occur if you have only one hard disk volume and you used the Erase and Install option when reinstalling. An application does not open at all. Double-click an application has no effect. It may briefly appear and then disappear or quit unexpectedly or did not respond. Safari may for instance not work after installing an Archive and Install.

Update your Mac OS X with the same version as that was present before the relocation or greater. If you download a program manual update of Mac OS X but you are unable to complete the installation (because the installer does not work), drag the installer package ( . pkg) over the application Setup. You will find in the Utilities folder under Applications (/ Applications / Utilities /).

if you previously installed updates relevant applications, you may need to proceed again with their resettlement. You can usually get the updates from Apple applications preferences Update software, select Update software ... from the Apple menu). The latest third-party applications are often available on the provider's website.

Still If you are not yet ready to proceed with the update and the version provided for an application does not open when you double-click a file, you can drag your document icon the desired application under / Applications or / Applications / Utilities (on your startup volume). You can also select the file in the Finder and choose Open With from the File menu.

Some versions of an application only work with specific versions of structure. If you have installed a newer version of an Apple application, it is possible that a newer version of the structure has also been. The installation of an update to Mac OS X is sometimes applied to date. If you later reinstall the version of Mac OS X or are installing Archive and install this version, the latest applications are preserved, but anterior structures are resettled. The easiest way to solve this problem consists in the application or reapply the latest operating system which you have previously. If this is not possible, remove the application that is not working and reinstall the updated application or Mac OS X that you had previously.
