Hotspot wifi surfing and security

I want to setup a hotspot point on my premises. The condition here lies in the safety of my users to use and access my internet. So I need some relevant support for the same. Issuing a public will be safe or should go with the SSL ( Secure Sockets Layer ). I too use a internet on a hotspot that has causes various security issues in my computer. Is that any security on hotspot wifi surfing.
