How does a DNS system work. Means what are the all steps involved in working of this system. I need all the steps started from the URL posting to IP address location. The sites are contacted to the various server all over the internet and so the process goes on. Can I get the information on DNS working procedure.

Here are some tips by which you can understand the working procedure of DNS. A User when opens a web browser and tries to connect to Google. The operating system not knowing the IP Address for Google, asks the ISP's DNS Server for this information.This is what happens when you press enter on a URL.

The ISP's DNS Server does not know this in sequence, so it attachs to a Root Server to find out what name server, it may be running on any part in the world, know the in sequence about Google. The Root Server tells the ISP's DNS Server to get in touch with a exacting name server that knows the in sequence about Google.

In the DNS working procedure there are many steps concerned in it. Like the ISP's DNS Server attaches to the Google's DNS server and asks for the IP Address for Google. Google's DNS Server act in response to the ISP's DNS server with the suitable IP Address. And so on the site is exposed.
