Re: How to clear DNS cache

When you type a Web address in your browser and you press ENTER, a request is sent to a DNS server. If the application is successful, the website opens. Otherwise, an error message appears. A record of those applications unsuccessful and is stored in a temporary storage location on your computer called cache DNS. DNS always checks the cache before sending a request to the DNS server, and if a matching record in the application is found, uses DNS registration, rather than sending a request to the server. This technique will speed up queries and reduce network traffic and the Internet.

Re: How to clear DNS cache

If you want to see your DNS cache in your system then you can use the following command. For this run cmd and type ipconfig / displaydns. The reslut will give you a display of your DNS cache. Clearing the DNS cache force sending a request to a DNS server rather than using information stored in the cache. You can clear the DNS cache in case of removal or modification of websites, or if errors appear unintentionally then you know that the Web address is typed correctly.

Re: How to clear DNS cache

Flushing DNS give some boost to your internet performance. If you using Windows then this solution will work for your. Click on Start > Run > and type cmd. Then in the DOS window, type ipconfig / flushdns. Press enter. But if your using Linux then simply restart the nscd process and type / etc / rc.d / init.d / nscd restart in a terminal to restart nscd. Once the order is executed, your DNS cache has been cleaned. And for MAC OS X type lookupd-flushcache in a terminal or if you have leopard then type-dscacheutil flushcache.

Re: How to clear DNS cache

When you connect to a website, your computer sends information to a DNS server that is responsible for making the correspondence between the address you typed in your browser. One way to gain faster access to a website is to appeal directly to the IP address of the site you want to visit in the address bar of your browser and avoid address resolution. The problem is that you cannot remember the IP addresses of all the sites you visit.

Re: How to clear DNS cache

The DNS cache contains the IP Address correspondence / Name field so that you do not ask this correspondence whenever you visit a page. They are so few tenths of seconds you win every time. One way to speed your connection is therefore to record a maximum matching domain name / IP addresses in the DNS cache of Windows XP. You can use any third party direct dnsflusher to get a quick result.
